PRESS RELEASE
With a strong online presence, amounting to over 50,000 downloads, and a massive underground following, it’s obvious why Rolling Stone magazine calls Asoka “impressive!” Arguably one of the hottest free agents in hip-hop today, Blender magazine says Asoka “is all set to rule.”
In 2008 Asoka self-released his street album, “The Underground Artist.” Rarely has an underground mc showcased such a mainstream line up. The album featured Eminem & Dr. Dre’s protégé Stat Quo, UFC model Adree Desanti, Young Noble & Hussein Fatal from 2Pac’s legendary group The Outlawz, and Sonjay Dutt from Spike TV’s TNA Wrestling amongst others.
The album was praised and received plenty press from publications such as Rolling Stone magazine to WWE.com and even Batman-on-Film (the largest Batman site in the world) when they decided to use Asoka’s song, Kingdom of Heaven, as a tribute to Heath Ledger.
In 2009 Asoka is back with his brand new album “Good Times: Coming Soon!” Doing things as only he can Asoka teamed up with Bollywood actress Hazel Rose Dawn to launch a digital campaign promoting the new album. The album features 21 new songs including wrestling superstar Sonjay Dutt’s new entrance theme “Rock The Fight” and features production by Joe Budden’s producer’s The Klasix.
Artists featured on the album include:
- The Outlawz from Young Buck’s CashVille Ent.
- Hush from Geffen Records
- Mac Lethal from RhymeSayers Entertainment
- Hussein Fatal from Thugtertainment
+ Others
